    Generally there are the following two types of flameout protection.

    A. Thermocouple extinguishing protection: using the physical properties of metal, it belongs to temperature difference induction, and the flameout protection action is controlled by temperature induction. When the temperature is lower than a certain temperature, the gas source is cut off immediately, which is an instant reaction, and the general extinction time is about 5 to 10 seconds.

    B. Ion induction extinguishing protection: using the photoelectric properties of the flame, when the flame deviates from the sensor needle, it will immediately make a judgment within 0.1 seconds, and cut off the gas source within 5 to 8 seconds.

    The biggest advantage of thermocouple extinguishing is that the success rate of cutting off the gas source is high. The disadvantage is that the time is not fast enough. Although the reaction of ion induction extinguishing is quick, if the flame is temporarily blown away from the induction needle by natural wind, it will also cause the solenoid valve to cut off the gas source, so you have to re-ignite. For this, many manufacturers have made a delay intelligent judgment whether the flame is really turned off. Therefore, the ion induction flameout protection technology is more suitable for gas water heaters ( sealed combustion).
