Precautions For Using Gas Water Heaters In Winter

1.Install in a ventilated environment to prevent CO from exceeding the standard.

Flue-type gas water heaters consume oxygen in the air during work and produce harmful gases such as carbon monoxide. Therefore, for safety reasons, it is recommended to install gas water heaters outdoors. If the installation is limited and indoor installation must be carried out, normal ventilation and air convection should be maintained in the room. In the cold and windy winter, we often close the doors and windows at home. If the ventilation is not smooth, it will easily cause safety hazards.

Suggestion: try not to install the flue gas water heater indoors, pay attention to ventilation, and the bathing time should not be too long, preferably within 30 minutes.

2.Pay attention to the temperature difference to avoid gas pipeline leakage.

Due to the cold weather and the large temperature difference between morning and evening, thermal expansion and contraction may occur at the valve connection, resulting in cracks and increasing the risk of gas leakage. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the pipeline of the gas water heater at home to prevent the danger of gas leakage.

Suggestion: Develop the habit of closing the gas valve after using the gas water heater, and regularly check whether the gas supply pipeline (gas pipe, main valve) is in good condition, whether there are problems such as aging and cracks.

3.In cold areas, take antifreeze measures.

Special attention should be paid when the temperature drops suddenly: gas water heaters installed outdoors are prone to backflow of cold outdoor air, causing the internal pipelines of the machine to freeze and block, and the copper pipes of the heat exchanger may also be frozen and cracked, resulting in water heaters being damaged to varying degrees. Damage, leaving a safety hazard.

Suggestion: When the lowest temperature is close to 0°C or lower than 0°C, if your gas water heater does not have an antifreeze function, or if this function cannot be used, please follow the steps below to take antifreeze measures.

1 Unplug the plug and turn off the power

2 Close the water heater gas valve

3 Close the water heater inlet valve

4 Open the hot water end of the mixing valve

5 Twist the pressure relief screw down to drain the water

6 After draining the water, replace the pressure relief screw
